My Story
I grew up in Mount Jackson, Virginia on a small farm where I raised cattle and sheep. I showed both species at the county fair for 10 years with 4-H and many more as an individual.
My love for working with animals pushed me to pursue a degree in Animal and Poultry Sciences at Virginia Tech. Along the way I decided to add a second major of Dairy Science, which quickly turned into a dual degree.
I have a passion for what I refer to as "Kids and Cows," and have found that the best option for me to achieve this is the the Virginia Cooperative Extension in the 4-H youth program. I served as the 4-H Youth Development Intern in Shenandoah County in the summer of 2018 and had some of the best experiences of my life. If you want to know more you can read my weekly blog under the 4-H Internship Blog tab.
